It’s simple…almost elementary. But it’s those artists that go past the music. Artists that transcend the beat, that transcends the hook, that genuinely pulls you in. Those artists are lyricists. And with lyricists there are really so few of them left. Verse is arguably one of the best underground lyricists around. He puts things together that you’ve heard but never really listened to. He thinks outside the box, way beyond the boundaries of the typical. He brings something to the table that hip-hop is lacking. This kid really could be something and after one listen, one live performance, or one freestyle…it’s obvious that lyrics really do matter.”
